Lewis spent eight years focusing on the real estate and real assets investments held by MIT's endowment and retirement plans. He committed equity of over $650 million to over 40 investment funds and helped initiate MIT's first private equity investments in real assets. Before joining MIT in 1996, Lewis began his career as an architect.
