The facility is located next to Starwood's 204,000-sf corporate headquarters building at 1111 Westchester Ave., part of the 1111/1129 Westchester Ave. complex. Nine West Group occupies the adjoining 1129 Westchester Ave. property.
Rob Martin and Steven Greenbush of CB Richard Ellis represented Starwood, while Maureen O'Boyle and Gerry Lees of Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut represented IBM. Starwood, which employs more than 800 workers at its White Plains headquarters, will relocate between 150 to 200 employees from 1111 Westchester Ave. to the 1133 Westchester Ave. building in the next several months, according to the spokesperson.
Martin adds that the lease deal with IBM at 1133 Westchester Ave. is for 10 years. He says Starwood had been in the market for additional space for about three to four months before deciding on this site. He says the economics of the deal, the efficiency of the floor plates and the property's location right next to its existing headquarters building were critical factors in Starwood's final decision.
