It is another in a series of major infrastructure improvements begun in 1995 for the base. The 42,000-sf facility will be built on the west side of Jefferson Avenue at Luke Avenue, south of the gift and thrift shop in the heart of the base. Completion of the medical training facility is expected in January 2006.
Other building activities going on currently include a $7.1-million joint dining facility. The 2,571-acre base has 198 buildings with1.9 million sf of space.
