ROCKVILLE, MD-Montrose Shopping Center will become the home of a new Gold's Gym now that the Venice, CA-based fitness center chain has committed to a 30,000-sf space at the 145,000-sf retail property at the intersection of Randolph Rd. and Nebel St. in Montgomery County. Gold's Gym plans to move into the space that had been occupied by anchor Sears HomeLife in January.

JBGR Rosenfeld Retail--which is assisting Gold's Gym in its search for additional spaces of 18,000 to 45,000 sf in Montgomery County, Fairfax County, VA, and Washington, DC--represented the tenant in the transaction, while NAI KLNB stood in for property owner the Cohen Cos.

Developed in 1971 and renovated in 1999, Montrose Shopping Center is home to a mix of national and local retailers such as Staples, AlpaGraphics PrintShop and King Carpet. Its presence within close proximity to Rockville Pike provides easy accessibility and high visibility.

"Up to this point, the company has not had a presence in this part of Montgomery County," says JBGR principal Grant Ehat. "The new gym is the perfect location for individuals wanting to fit in a workout before heading to the office in the morning or on their way home in the evening."
