WASHINGTON, DC-Congress passes a spending bill that, essentially, leaves low-income housing market in the lurch. The bill not only decreases funding, but it also institutes restrictive language with regard to the US Housing and Urban Development's distribution of Section 8 vouchers.
"People who need or rely on public housing, Indian housing, elderly housing, housing for people with AIDS or who are disabled, block grants for affordable housing and community development, and even homeless assistance will have to do with less in the coming year," Crowley says.
