GM spokesman Dan Flores says the engine plant expansion would create 350 news jobs to build a V-6 engine. The tax credits were approved by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. "It is encouraging to see that GM is considering significant investment in Flint," MEDC president Don Jakeway says. "If approved, this investment would be a positive indication that manufacturing will remain a staple of our future economic success for many years to come."
Flores says the incentives "make the business case that much more competitive. We appreciate the support from the state."
