The six-story one- and two-bedroom building has been named Waterford at Bayonne. The project, which will include two levels of parking underneath, will have Manhattan skyline views and will take architectural elements from many of the older buildings in this waterfront city, according to Kaplan.
Waterford at Bayonne also represents a redevelopment project. The one-acre site was once used as a bus terminal, but is now mostly vacant, according to Kaplan, whose company has developed a total of more than 20,000 residential units. And as part of the overall project, an adjacent bus stop will be overhauled to "mesh with the building's character," according to Kaplan. The cost of building Waterford at Bayonne has not been disclosed.
