Racetrack to Expand, Renovate by June

BROOKLYN, MI-The Michigan International Speedway is getting a major upgrade in the largest renovation in its 37-year history. Completion is expected by June's Nascar Nextel Cup Series event.

A new suite and club structure will be built above the main grandstand near the finish line and will hold 16 suites, a press box, a section of Champions Club seats and other amenities. MIS says the project will be done in time for the Nascar Nextel Cup Series event at MIS June 17-19.

MIS is owned by Daytona Beach, FL-based International Speedway Corp., which is not disclosing project costs.
