The building was originally constructed in 1906 for the Austin Biscuit Co., and was known locally as the Stop & Shop bakery building until they ceased operations and vacated the premises in 1984. Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. completely gutted the existing 240,000-sf, six-story structure in 2000, added a six-story addition, and completed the mixed-use complex in early 2003. The building has 16,000 sf of retail space at ground level, 178,000 sf of office space on floors two through six, and 108 residential units in the new six-story addition.

The office portion of the building is 62% occupied, and other tenants include Grant Thornton, Companion Health and the Massachusetts Land Court. Intercontinental is currently in negotiations with a tenant for the retail portion.

Intercontinental was represented in-house by Thomas R. Taranto, Jr., director of asset management. Banner Seventeen d/b/a Boston Celtics, were represented by John P. Barry, partner, and Thomas D. Ashe, associate, of Richards Barry Joyce & Partners.
