MIAMI-Locally based Quail Roost Investors Joint Venture obtained $5.2 million in financing for the 221,720-sf Quail Roost Shopping Center here on US 1. The retail strip mall was built in 1982. Its major tenant is Kinko's.

Lan Chi Stempel, VP of the local office of Coral Gables-based Thomas D. Wood and Co., secured the financing. It is at a permanent, undisclosed fixed rate with a 15-year term and 25-year amortization. The lender is Richmond, VA-based Genworth Financial, a firm with which Wood has a correspondent lender relationship.

Wood has correspondent relationships with 12 major life insurance companies in addition to Wall Street. Its servicing portfolio approaches $1 billion and consists of long-term mortgages on a variety of commercial properties throughout Florida.
