Property owner AMC Entertainment Inc. chose Champion to develop the second phase in July 2003, soon after the Kansas City, MO-based theatrical exhibition company completed the first phase of the Burbank Entertainment Village, which has long been considered a key to the city's downtown revitalization. The first phase of the project is anchored by a 16-screen AMC Megaplex and includes 30,000 sf of retail and restaurant space and a 250-car parking structure.
