Nikolich's Fox River Grove-based boutique real estate investment bank was financial advisor and placement agent for Barrington-based Ridge Property Trust. It arranged a private placement of $25 million in institutional equity and debt to create the private REIT in 2003. Ridge Property Trust hopes to build and acquire warehouse, distribution and manufacturing space. "They're targeting markets nationwide," Nikolich adds.
The project here will convert Homak Manufacturing Co.'s obsolete 410,000-sf building to two warehouse and manufacturing buildings totaling 543,581 sf. The 25-acre site, served by a rail spur, could accommodate additional development, Nikolich notes.
