Work will start immediately, according to a Skanska spokesman. Being built at a cost of more than $50 million, the facility is slated for completion in September 2006. The architect for the project is Gehry Partners, based in Los Angeles.

Named the Peter B. Lewis Science Library, the new facility is the 10th project that Skanska USA Building has done for Princeton University. When completed, it will be used to consolidate the geosciences, chemistry, ecology, evolutionary biology and molecular biology book collections, currently scattered at several campus locations. The building will also contain conference rooms, classrooms, a video studio and a café.
