CB Richard Ellis' real estate banking arm, LJ Melody & Co., arranged both financings. James Gunning, a senior director in Melody's New Jersey office here, arranged the medical building financing. It is a 20-year self-liquidating loan. Aegon USA provided the funding on behalf of a partnership headed by managing director Maurice M. Weill. The facilities themselves are located near St. Barnabas Medical Center in adjoining Livingston, NJ.
In the second transaction, Melody vice president Greg James arranged an $8 million bridge loan for 5000 Hadley Rd., a 226,616-sf office building in South Plainfield, NJ. The two-story, 32-year-old building, located on 17.8 acres, serves as the world headquarters of Multiplex Inc., a developer and manufacturer of opto-electronic products for the telecom business. The loan will provide a credit facility for planned tenant and leasing commission improvements for a new, unidentified tenant who will take 35,000 sf.
