The new lab, which will be utilized by the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health, will cost $41.3 million to complete. Ultimately, Phase III will also yield a separate office structure for CRDH workers.
"The new FDA campus is going to be a vital source of economic activity in suburban Maryland," says Donald C. Williams, regional administrator for GSA's National Capital Region. In December the GSA awarded Centex Construction Co. the buildout contract for part of Phase II, the 550,000-sf Center for Drug Evaluation and Research office building.
