The pick-up brings to 17 the number of multifamily properties the Florham Park-based Kushner owns in South Jersey's Camden County. All are within an eight-mile radius of Fairways Apartments, a complex that was built in 1972.

"Based on the consistently high occupancy record at Fairways and its prime location, this property provided a strategic investment opportunity," Hammer says. "By building a concentrated presence in our target markets, we are able to maximize operating efficiencies." Kushner currently owns and manages more than 25,000 apartments and has a portfolio of five million sf of commercial space in New Jersey and four neighboring states.
