WOODBURN, OR-Nike will anchor a planned 23,700-sf addition to Woodburn Company Stores, a 300,000-sf outlet center here that sits along Interstate 5. A Nike Factory Store will occupy 15,000 sf of the 23,700-sf expansion. November is the store's tentative opening date. "They'll be a huge draw for shoppers," says Mary Graves, general manager of the outlet center. "The Nike Factory Store [is] an outlet our shoppers have been requesting since we opened six years ago." There are currently 80 retailers at the outlet center, which opened in 1999 and was last expanded in 2003. Some 3.5 million shoppers visited the property in 2004. Sales at the center approach $400 per sf, says Steven Craig, managing partner of center owner Craig Realty Group of Newport Beach, CA. Construction on the $1.6-million addition is set to start next month. Portland-based SD Deacon is the general contractor. In addition to Nike, the new wing is expected to hold a restaurant and possibly one other apparel retailer. Nike's new factory store will be its fourth in the state, with other factory stores located in Bend, Portland and Seaside. In addition, Nike's full-price retail stores are located in Downtown Portland, Eugene and at the Portland International Airport.Craig Realty Group specializes in the development and ownership of factory outlet centers.
