EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ-The Teicher Organization, based here, will launch several residential and mixed-use projects this year, including three under the aegis of its American Communities portfolio. The latter is a group of projects focused on urban redevelopment.

"With an increasing number of residents and businesses moving back to urban areas, state and city governments have been taking strides to revitalize traditional epicenters," says Stuart Teicher, and firm's SVP. "Our American Communities portfolio enables us to capitalize on the numerous urban revitalizations in these communities."

One of the three is the Majestic, a project combining residential and retail within the redevelopment area of Asbury Park, NJ. The company has just closed on the site, located at the intersection of Fifth Ave. and Kingsley St. in the oceanfront city. In the works are luxury condos with ground-floor retail space and on-site parking, although specifics of the project haven't been released yet.

A second project is in Port Jervis, NY, where Teicher has been designated as the redeveloper for a site on the Delaware River waterfront. According to Teicher, preliminary engineering studies are under way for Riverside at Port Jervis, a three-phase project that will include more than 500 condos and townhomes, a 70-room hotel and recreational parklands.

The third is in Kingston, NY, where preliminary studies are similarly underway for the redevelopment of a city-owned parking garage. Tentatively plans call for the site to be redeveloped as a multi-unit condominium complex with a new public parking garage.
