Monmouth Capital was formed in 1961, and in 2001 elected to operate as a REIT. The company's management is also involved in two other REITs, United Mobile Homes Inc., which owns and operates manufactured home communities, and Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corp., which specializes in net-leased industrial properties. Monmouth Capital Corp. pursues real estate opportunities outside the scope of the two specialized REITs.
Dominick and Dominick LLC, a New York-based investment banking firm, acted as the placement agent, according to Landy. The investment firm of Anderson & Strudwick, based in Richmond, VA, acted as the lead selling agent in the transaction. And the New York-based law firm of Thacher Proffitt & Wood was the counsel for Monmouth Capital Corp.
