HARRISON, NJ-Ground is scheduled to be broken this week for Town Homes at River Park, the 313-unit first phase of a residential project that will top 1,100 units. Millennium Homes, a Livingston, NJ-based division of BNE Associates, and the Short Hills, NJ-based Roseland Property Co. are joint venturing the project.

The residential development is part of a larger $1 billion redevelopment of former industrial sites along this city's Passaic River waterfront, directly across the river from Downtown Newark. The larger project encompasses some one million sf of office space and a major retail component, being developed by Advance Realty Group of Bedminster, NJ. Also expected to be part of the mix is a new 25,000-seat stadium for pro soccer's MetroStars, pending the finalizing of a financing package.

The residential component itself will also have 100,000 sf of retail space, mostly of the convenience variety. Amenities will include a clubhouse and outdoor pool, as well as a river walk. The homes themselves will be a combination of for-sale and rental units. Construction cost of the Town Homes at River Park has not been disclosed.
