One of the plants Visteon may sell to Ford is a plant at 18 Mileand Mound in Sterling Heights, which employs about 2,600 and makeschassis parts. The other plants have not been identified. Visteonhas nine factories in southeastern Michigan.

The Van Buren-based company had combined losses of $3.28 billionfrom 2001 through the first quarter of 2005. The restructuring maybe announced before June 1, according to various sources. The unionand the company have confirmed that talks are ongoing.
