At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, speakers will address the report.Panelists will include Karen Anderson, NLC's past president andcurrent mayor of Minnetonka, MN; Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper;and Steve Burkholder, mayor of Lakewood, CO. From 12:30 p.m. to 4p.m., there will be various breakout sessions on the changingeconomy from service to knowledge. Nine rules of economicdevelopment will be detailed.

On Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until noon, workshops on localpolitics in a global era will address working with the private andindependent sectors, action steps for economic vitality, andworkforce development education. Then, Baltimore Mayor MartinO'Malley will chair an international task force workshop that willlast until 5 p.m. The conference ends on Saturday, with a tour ofEstes Park, CO, a mountain town. In addition to elected officials,executives from 3M, IBM and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage will be onhand to discuss what they look for in economic development and foroffice space needs.
