PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI-A German auto parts manufacturer hasopened a 145,000-sf, $15-million production facility in this WayneCounty suburb. Karmann USA will use the plant to build convertibleroof structures for automobiles. The first project that will comeout of the plant is the retractable hardtop for the Pontiac G6convertible, due to hit showrooms next year.
The township facility, at 14988 Pilot Dr., is the firstproduction facility in the US for Karmann. It is located next tothe company's North American technical center.
