Post officials and Walker couldn't be reached by GlobeSt.com's publication deadline to learn why Walker left Fairfield where he completed conventional and student multifamily developments totaling 4,500 units valued at $350 million. Before his stint at Fairfield, Walker was senior vice president of acquisitions of the Southwest/Southeast region for Chicago-based AMLI Residential Properties LP.

Post president David P. Stockert says in a prepared statement Walker will help Post "plan and implement our investment and development strategy in several of the south's fastest growing cities." In his career to date, Walker has participated in $1.5 billion worth of apartment financing, joint ventures, development and acquisitions, according to Stockert.

Walker is a graduate of the University of North Texas and is active in the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Southeast region of the Real Estate Investors Advisory Council.
