Reza Etedali, founder and CEO of the brokerage firm, says Bortnick will oversee a rapid expansion that is under way at the company. "Many brokers have a good level of knowledge in executing deals but lack a strong understanding of real estate, including large, full-service companies," Etedali says.
As an owner and senior executive at a REIT, "Terry has a keen sense of what makes retail real estate work and has great understanding of what investors need from a brokerage firm," Etedali comments. Stuart Tanz, CEO of Pan Pacific Retail Properties, says that Bortnick will be missed but adds, "We very much look forward to working with Terry in his new capacity."
Bortnick says he has long thought of returning to his roots in investment sales. Before joining Pan Pacific, he was an active investment broker in Southern California. In his move to REZA Investment Group, he joins a firm that specializes in retail investment properties.
