To make the deal work, a discount store closed and the space teamed with a vacancy to get enough adjoining room in the 1340,000-sf shopping center at 3402 N. Buckner Blvd., David Levinson, senior vice president with locally based Retail Connection LP, tells GlobeSt.com. "It turned out to be a good deal for the landlord," he adds. The 25-year-old asset on 3.6 acres is owned by Raywood Interests Inc. of Dallas.
Towne Center, anchored by a 52,000-sf corporate-owned Tom Thumb grocery, primarily has quoted rates of $9 per sf to $11 per sf. Levinson teamed with Retail Connection senior vice president Chris Thomas to negotiate the deal for the building owner while Laurie Brigance and Josh White with Dallas-based Staubach Co. represented the county employment and training agency.
