LAKEWOOD, NJ-J. Knipper & Co. has opened its new 180,000-sf headquarters and warehouse facility within the Lakewood Industrial Park here. The company, which markets and distributes drugs for pharmaceutical companies, is leasing the $10-million building from the developer/owner of the asset, the Sudler Cos. of Parsippany, NJ.

The location unites 230 employees that until now had been in a half-dozen locations occupied by the 19-year-old J. Knipper & Co., according to the company's president/CEO James J. Knipper. Knipper and his father, Joseph, founded the company in 1986, sold it to the McKesson Corp. in 1998, and reacquired it in 2002. The company's sales base is the physician community.

Located on the newly renamed Healthcare Way in the industrial park, the facility is situated within this city's state-designated urban enterprise zone. The site has room for an expansion of up to 60,000 sf of building space.
