CenterPoint Properties Trust plans up to 6.2 million sf of build-to-suit properties, either for sale or lease. It would be the company's largest development project outside of CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Elwood, IL, where 12.2 million sf is expected to be built on 730 acres.
A location near two national laboratories, Argonne National Laboratory and Fermi National Laboratory, should draw high-tech and science companies, says DuPage Airport Authority chairman Dan Goodwin. Argonne National Laboratory's Center for Advanced Technology, NASA Illinois Commercialization Center, University of Illinois' Technology Research Education and Commercialization Center and the Illinois Technology Development Alliance are among the tenants the REIT expects to land.
