NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ-Levin Management, based here, recently signed 19 retail leases totaling 140,404 sf, with the largest being 29,916 sf. The signings came at 11 shopping centers managed by the company in five states. Eight of the deals involved shopping center properties in New Jersey.Among the largest of the various deals in New Jersey was the 12,486 sf taken by Pier 1 Imports at St. Georges Crossing in Woodbridge, a transaction arranged by Levin's Alan Gott. Pier 1's new store is within a larger space once occupied by a ShopRite supermarket, which itself has taken over a 91,000-sf space once tenanted by Caldor. Other anchors at the 317,458-sf St. Georges Crossing include OfficeMax, PC Richard & Son, PetsMart, Taco Bell and Bertucci's.Also in New Jersey, Whole Foods has taken over the anchor slot once occupied by Pathmark at the West Orange Plaza in West Orange, and Catherine's has taken just under 5,200 sf at the property. Stan Bernstein, Levin's leasing rep for the center, negotiated the Catherine's deal.And at Capitol Plaza, a 357,000-sf mixed-use complex in Ewing Township, athletic apparel and footwear, retailer Kicks USA has taken 5,080 sf, while King's Beauty Supply has signed on for 4,598 sf. Both transactions were arranged by Levin's Dale Mulartrick Besides its retail component, Capitol Plaza has 70,000 sf of second floor office space with the State of New Jersey as primary tenant under a long-term lease. The space was formerly the second floor of a discount department store.The largest of all the recent signings came at the 336,248-sf Crossroads Place in Fairfax, VA, however, where HomeGoods took 29,916 sf. Other signings at the property include Pearl Art Supplies (21,404 sf), England Furniture (14,592 sf) and Quiznos (2,154 sf), and as part of the England Furniture lease, Levin relocated Footlocker into a 4,487-sf store. Mulartrick and Bernstein were involved in the various transactions.And at Capitol Plaza in Bangor, PA, which Levin is currently repositioning, Ace Hardware took just under 16,000 sf that once housed an Acme supermarket, and RiteAid will occupy an 11,000-sf freestanding building on the site. Mulartrick did both deals.
