It will be the third Century Theatre in the metro area, when it opens in mid-2006. The other two are in Aurora and at the Belmar mixed-use development of Belmar in Lakewood. Belmar serves as Lakewood's downtown.

The new theater will be an anchor for an eventual mixed-use development on the site. The city has an interim agreement with Opus-Northwest/Goldberg Properties for the redevelopment of 10.9 acres on the southeast corner of 120th Avenue and I-25. The proposed mixed-use development is anticipated to include a mix of retail, commercial, office, entertainment, and restaurant space.

Opus-Northwest/Goldberg anticipates beginning construction of the first phase of redevelopment in 2006. It is too early in the process to determine the size, scope, tenants and value of the development, according to Katy Press, acting economic development director for the city of Northglenn.
