Greene, a metal welder and fabricator that handles various defense contracts for the US government, selected the building at 56516 N. Bay Dr. because of the location, price and overall condition. "They'd looked at various properties throughout the entire market before settling on this one, and it suited their needs," says Bob Pagano, senior vice president, industrial group with Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Southfield office. Pagano and Jack Coury, also of Grubb & Ellis' Southfield office, represented Greene Metal Products. Peter Kepic of Colliers International's local office, also based in Southfield, was on hand for the seller, Joseph Putti.
"This was a spec building in shell condition," Pagano tells GlobeSt.com, adding Greene finished the interior to its specifications. "They'll use the property for welding and manufacturing activities."
