"This job afforded me new challenges of running a construction department," Genrich tells GlobeSt.com. "Before, I was running the projects, now I'm overseeing a staff of about 30 people, so this a different career path direction for me."
Prior to joining Sachse, Genrich was senior project manager with Skanska USA Building Inc.'s Detroit office, where he oversaw construction projects including Dearborn's Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, the City of Livonia's Community Recreation Center and the Compuware Sports Arena. He was also project manager and estimator for several years with the RA DeMattia Co. in Plymouth, MI, where he coordinated activities ranging from half a million dollars to in excess of $10 million. A Detroit native, Genrich graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in construction management.
Genrich notes that he's planning to bring his expertise and skills from previous jobs to help Sachse in certain areas, such as ground-up construction. "Our primary market has been doing a lot of renovations and tenant build-outs, as well as commercial work in the malls," he says. "I'd like to see more ground-up construction, and would like to see us grow in revenue, as well as in our niche market."
