Five of 13 Starwood Properties Reopen After Wilma

MIAMI-Two hotels here, two in Fort Lauderdale and one in Key Largo are fully operational. Another seven in South Florida will re-open between today and Nov. 4. Sheraton Yankee Clipper, already scheduled for remodeling, remains closed.

Those that have reopened are Sheraton Miami Mart and Four Points by Sheraton Miami Beach here, the Atlantic and Sheraton Yankee Trader in Fort Lauderdale, and Sheraton Beach Resort Key Largo in Key Largo. Three others, Sheraton Suites Key West in Key West, Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood and Diplomat Country Club & Spa in Hallandale Beach will open Sat., Oct. 29.

Two Fort Lauderdale properties, Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek and Westin Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel, will open on Oct. 31, followed by Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel on Nov. 1. The Sheraton Bal Harbour in Bal Harbour is scheduled to open on Nov. 4.

Two of the company's Cancun properties took a direct hit and are scheduled to reopen Dec. 20. They are Sheraton Cancun Resort & Towers and Westin Regina Resort.
