"He will oversee the hotels and the nearly 3,500 employees who work in them," says Steven A. Rudnitsky, Cendant Hotel Group chairman/CEO. "By managing hotels, we will gain insight and experience to better understand the needs of our owners and franchisees, promote franchise development and accelerate new construction projects beyond what would be possible in a pure franchising model."
Ade has managed a number of hotel properties, including the New York Palace. He comes over to Cendant from Interstate Hotels and Resorts of Arlington, VA, where he had spent the past nine years and held the title of vice president. Previously, he had worked at the property level since 1976. Besides Wyndham, Cendant operates hotels under the Super 8, Days Inn, Ramada, Travelodge, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Wingate Inn and AmeriHost Inn brands.
