STAMFORD, CT-Childcare provider Bright Horizons Family Solutions has signed a 10-year lease for 10,000 sf of space at High Ridge Park here. The Watertown, MA-based firm, which will serve as the on-site childcare center at the 583,000-sf complex, leased space on the ground floor of the 80,000-sf 4 High Ridge Park.

The Stamford facility is the firm's 17th Connecticut location. Bright Horizons manages more than 550 early childcare and education centers in the US, Europe and Canada. Stuart I. Romanoff, executive vice president of Cushman & Wakefield of New York, and executive director Paul Kauffman, senior directors Stephen Baker and Maureen O'Boyle and associates Adam Kilmek and Mikael Levey of Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut, represented the ownership. Paul Tortora, vice president of Albert B. Ashforth of Stamford, represented Bright Horizons.

"Putting a day care center in High Ridge Park was the perfect complement to the abundance of tenant amenities already offered," Baker says. High Ridge Park is owned by New York City-based George Comfort & Sons and Angelo Gordon's Core Plus Fund. Current there is approximately 275,000 sf of vacant space at the six-building complex. Most of that space was formerly occupied by Cadbury Schweppes, which relocated to Rye Brook, NY.

The property ownership has embarked on a multi-million dollar capital improvement program for the property. "Leasing momentum is well under way at High Ridge Park," Romanoff says. "The renovation and refurbishment of the property has been instrumental in both attracting and retaining tenants."
