CONNERTON, FL-Fort Lauderdale-based Stile Corp. plans to develop an estimated $6-million, 80,000-sf shopping center at a main entrance to the estimated $75-million, mixed-use Connerton community. Houston-based Terrabrook is developing Connerton in south-central Pasco County, about 50 miles northeast of Downtown Tampa.
A Stiles representative didn't return a GlobeSt.com request for an estimated development cost of the project. However, area construction sources who have completed comparable projects recently tell GlobeSt.com the Stiles venture will probably be built at a hard construction cost of about $75 per sf.
In a prepared statement, Stiles president Doug Eagon says a 45,600-sf Publix Supermarket will anchor Arbor Square at Connerton. The center will also include two outparcels; 23,000 sf of retail and restaurant space; and 9,000-sf of office space. Construction is slated to begin in first quarter 2006 with completion anticipated by fall 2006.
Stiles Development is handling the project's development management. Stiles Retail Group is in charge of leasing. Stiles' Architecture 6400 Inc. is designing the project.
