BOSTON-The Boston Housing Authority has approved two multifamily projects that will bring 187 units--25 of them affordable--to the city's Dorchester and South Boston neighborhoods. The larger of the two developments is a $56-million joint venture between John M. Corcoran & Co., of Braintree and the locally based Brennan Group Inc.
The Residences at 50 West Broadway will put 127 units of housing in a two- to four-story building on the site of the former Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston. It will also include 3,500 sf of street-level retail. Construction is expected to begin in the second or third quarter of 2006.
The second project, called Crescent Court in Dorchester, will feature 70,800 sf of living space divided into 59 loft-style units located on Dorchester Avenue. The Residences at 50 West Broadway will include 17 units designated as affordable while Crescent Court will contain eight.
