HARRISBURG, PA-The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority provided $31.5 million in low-interest loans to fund 26 projects across 16 counties. One of the two largest loans, each for nearly $2.3 million, goes to AEO Realty Co. LLC for the acquisition of an existing 187,000-sf building on Hot Metal Street in Pittsburgh as national headquarters for American Eagle Outfitters.
With another $2.3-million loan, Mutual Benefit Insurance Co. will add 69,359 sf to its existing 42,816-sf building on Penn Street in Huntingdon. The property will be the insurance company's national headquarters.
With two loans aggregating $4 million, East Penn Manufacturing Co. will construct a 180,000-sf building in Topton and a 600,000-sf building in Richmond Twp. in Berks County. In Bucks County, 455 Dunskferry Road LP obtained a $1.5-million PIDA loan to acquire an existing 79,092-sf building in Bensalem Twp. as a multi-tenant property. Iron Mountain Records Management and Metro Beverages of Philadelphia have signed lease agreements for the property.
Five projects in Philadelphia County received an aggregate of $5.3 million in PIDA loans. Of the total, Liberty Bear LLC will use a $2-million PIDA loan to build a 138,236-sf cold-storage warehouse facility on S. Third St. in Philadelphia. University Science Center will use a $1-million loan to renovate an existing 16,646-sf building on Market Street, and Today's Business Park LP will use $1 million to renovate a 40,746-sf building on Enterprise Ave.
First Quality Nonwovens Inc. obtained $2.1 million to add 50,000 sf to its existing 100,000-sf manufacturing facility on Green Mountain Road in East Union Twp. in Schuylkill County. West North LLC receives a $2-million loan to build an 88,750-sf building on Glover Road, Forks Twp. in Northampton County where Modern Pre-Cast Concrete will relocate. Jaycee Associates obtained almost $1.5 million to add 44,000 sf to an existing 97,450-sf building on Jaycee Drive in Hazle Twp. in Luzerne County for expansion of EAM Mosca Corp. The remainder of the PIDA funding is split among 15 other projects in the state, each receiving less than $1 million.
