The Indianapolis-based JV develops healthcare facilities for hospitals and physician groups. According to Chuck Vogt, Bremner SVP and chief strategy officer, the partnership has $1 billion to spend on development. "Our expansion into Florida will further our growth into the South," he says.
Over the past 20 years, Bremner has developed nearly $1 billion in healthcare facilities and currently manages more than three million sf of healthcare assets. The partnership allows it to accommodate the different ways in which hospital systems handle development, according to Vogt.
"Certain hospital systems have a strong relationship with a general contractor, while others suggest we use an RFP to select the right general contractor. The Bremner-Duke design/build model will be utilized for many projects, while we continue to use other general contractor firms when a hospital desires that process," he explains. Duke's development and construction division has offices here and in Tampa and Orlando along with 10 others nationwide.
