Horsham, PA-based Toll Brothers may enter the metro Atlanta market if Woodstock city officials approve Toll's request to have Woodstock annex and rezone 99 acres outside the city and rezone another 95 acres inside city limits, Woodstock city staffers confirm for GlobeSt.com. City council is expected to review Toll's request later this month. Woodstock is about 25 miles north of Downtown Atlanta.
In Locust Grove, 40 miles southeast of Atlanta, Stockbridge-based DRA Development proposed a mixed-use community in a two-phased project that would include schools, a health facility and an undetermined amount of office space. But development of the project, Strong Rock, hinges on Locust Grove officials rezoning the Henry County land about a mile south of Bill Gardiner Parkway, between Interstate 75 and the Bill Gardner Reservoir.
According to preliminary plans filed with the city and the state, the first phase would consist of an elementary and middle school, an assisted-living facility, office space and a recreational area. The second phase would include a high school and hospital.
