The 275-unit Brookwood is being built at 1820 Peachtree Rd. between 28th Street and Palisades Road. Homes will be priced from the high $200,000s to the $800,000s. The 19-story building will have 20,000 sf of ground-floor retail and restaurant space. "The location and building design will be a key attraction for our buyers--the empty nester and the more discriminating, younger buyers," says Mark Riley, managing partner of Urban Realty Partners.

In suburban Marietta, the seven-story, , 36-home Emerson Overlook condo community will also have 30,000 sf of ground-floor retail and office space. The condos, ranging from 1,100 sf to 4,000 sf of living area, will start at about $200,000. The first phase is expected to be completed by spring 2007. The development site is on Roswell Street, about three blocks from the Marietta Square and across from the Marietta National Military Cemetery.

A representative for the 125-unit Eco Lofts in Chamblee tells GlobeSt.com the project at 3400 Malone Dr. will be Atlanta's first development powered by 100% wind energy instead of electricity. The condos are following the EarthCraft House green building program that is supposed to reduce utility bills and protect the environment, the representative for 3400 Partners says. The homes are priced from the low $200,000s to the high $500,000s. The development site is in the center of Chamblee, inside the Perimeter and adjacent to a Marta station.
