In Hamburg, AMB acquired 561,000 sf in four distribution facilities at the Port of Hamburg for $47 million. The Port of Hamburg is Europe's second busiest seaport and largest rail container-handling center. The acquisition boosts its presence in Hamburg to 1.4 million sf, including projects currently under construction.
In Osaka, AMB and local development partner AMB BlackPine commenced development of a second distribution center, AMB Amagasaki Distribution Center 2. The five-story, fully-ramped building will total approximately 982,000 sf and is projected to cost $114.2 million. When complete, AMB's presence in Japan will total about 4.8 million sf.
In Mexico City, AMB and local partner G. Accion, has broken ground for the first two buildings in its Tres Rios Industrial Park. The two buildings comprise approximately 944,000 sf and are projected to be completed for a total investment of $55 million. Mexico City's largest master-planned industrial park at 162 acres, Tres Rios was formerly known as Eagle Industrial Park. It is located the city's premier distribution submarket adjacent to the Nafta highway. AMB's presence in Mexico City will total three million sf when the project is complete.
In Guadalajara, AMB and G. Accion are developing the 474,000-sf Arrayanes Building 2 at a cost of $19.8 million. The distribution facility will be located in the master-planned San Jorge Industrial Park in Guadalajara's largest industrial submarket. The project will bring AMB's total offerings in Guadalajara to 1.4 million sf.
All told, AMB owns interests in 115 million sf in 1,057 buildings in 42 markets in 11 countries.
