The 16-acre Hard Rock Hotel & Casino includes an 11-story hotel tower, a casino, an expansive pool area, a nightclub, a 2,000-person live concert venue, five restaurants, three cocktail lounges and a full-service salon and spa. It commenced operations in 1995 and was expanded and renovated in 1999 at a cost of $100 million. In 2004, it received another $8 million in improvements that included new televisions in hotel guest rooms, a new night club and a new parking garage.

The hotel is owned by Lily Pond Investments Inc., which is owned by Peter Morton. A Peter Morton affiliate, HR Condominium Investors, is planning to develop 24 acres adjacent to the resort with 1,350 condominiums, a second live music venue, a second spa and additional restaurants and swimming pools. The development cost is upwards of $1.2 billion, which is the amount of a loan facility HR Condominium Investors is using to fund the development. The project is expected to get under way this year and be complete in 2008.
