KKR Strategic Capital Fund will be managed by KKR Financial LLC, a KKR affiliate. The fund is KKR Financial's second offering. Last year, it completed the initial public offering of shares in the real estate investment trust KKR Financial Corp.
KKR Strategic Capital Fund will focus on "stressed and distressed opportunities and market dislocation investments," according to a KKR release. A KKR spokeswoman declined to comment beyond the release, but published reports says the fund will buy and sell bonds and loans in the secondary market and will lend directly to companies.
