The county has attached 37 pre-build conditions to the development order approved by commissioners. The conditions have to be met before Cousins can break ground this summer on the site at Corinth and Old Corinth roads, sources in a position to know tell GlobeSt.com. Cousins officials couldn't be reached by GlobeSt.com's publication deadline to learn details of the project, including the price of the land.
However, area industrial brokers familiar with Coweta land prices say the 2,971-acre tract probably will sell for at least $10,000 per acre (23 cents per sf) or an estimated gross total of $30 million. The deal is expected to close in the next 90 days, according to local brokers.
Cousins expects to submit a list of builders to the county in the next several weeks, county staffers tell GlobeSt.com. Projected prices of the homes are still being worked out, marketing sources say. The development site is about 40 miles southwest of Downtown Atlanta and about 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
