The first of the three hotels to open will be in Kuwait. The 200-plus room hotel will be located in the Symphony Complex, a new hotel and shopping complex set on the waterfront. As will be the case with all three, everything in the hotel will carry the Missoni brand, from the Missoni Spa to the Missoni Cucina restaurant to the Mocha Missoni coffee bar. The property is scheduled to open in mid-2007.
Hotel Missoni Dubai will be located on the crescent of Nakheel's Palm Island Jumeirah. The 250-room hotel will be constructed as a Mediterranean village with a private harbor. The property is scheduled to open in late 2008.
Hotel Missoni Edinburgh will be located on Royal Mile, which connects Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Hollyrood House, at Victoria Terrace and George IV Bridge. Hotel Missoni Edinburgh will offer 130 rooms. It, too, is expected to open in late 2008.
The interior design of all Missoni hotels is being conceptualized and controlled by Studio Thun, the Milan-based architectural and design practice, headed by architect Matteo Thun. LWD of Dubai will implement the design for the Kuwait and Dubai hotels while Graven Images of Glasgow does so for Hotel Edinburgh.

In September 2002, Rezidor SAS launched a JV with US-based Carlson Hotels Worldwide to expand selected Carlson brands in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In June 2005, their franchise partnership turned into a shareholder agreement. Carlson Hotels Worldwide acquired a 25% stake in Rezidor SAS Hospitality from SAS group in return for renegotiated commercial terms of the parties' current master franchise agreement.
