STERLING HEIGHTS, MI-Technology firm Valentine Robotics Inc. will move into Macomb County with the purchase of a 16,360-sf building at 36625 Metro Ct. With the relocation, the firm will double the size of its operations, which is now located in an 8,100-sf facility.

The building was purchased from Roncelli Inc., which had previously been leased to another tenant. Tom Jablonski and Gary Grochowski, of L. Mason Capitani Inc., represented Valentine in the transaction. The sales price was not disclosed.

Jablonski tells GlobeSt.com that Valentine, which provides robotic and automation training and support services for manufacturing facilities, was looking for space to expand operations and accommodate future growth. Some tenant improvements are currently being made to the space, which the company hopes to occupy by June 1.

Valentine, which is located in Auburn Hills in Oakland County, decided to make the move after in-depth discussions with the Macomb County Economic Development Committee. The company received tax credits based on the number of employees it brought to the county.

Grochowski tells GlobeSt.com that the move "offers a glimmer of hope for the economy" as it shifts from a manufacturing-based economy to one that includes other emerging sectors such as technology and healthcare. "This is the type of business that the county is hoping to attract," he says.
