Meyer & Meyer signed a long-term lease for the space. In exchange, Denver-based ProLogis will build the facility to suit the company's needs. Located along Germany's Autobahn A2 motorway, the building will allow Meyer & Meyer to consolidate operations currently housed at a number of different locations in the area. It also will serve as a regional headquarters facility for the company.
"Our business has grown considerably over the last 10 years, and we now have an opportunity to improve operational efficiency through centralization and consolidation," says Michael Meyer, managing director of Meyer & Meyer.
Meyer & Meyer specializes in logistics services for textiles. The company also provides logistics services to distributors of furniture, bicycles and other products. ProLogis has 4.2 million sf of industrial space owned, managed or under development in and around Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and other key markets.
