DENVER-Brownfields Capital has hired Wall Street veteran JamesM. Harasimowicz as president and chief operating officer. Thecompany is a specialty commercial real estate lender and investmentmanagement firm with a patented process and financial instrumentfor financing the remediation and redevelopment of brownfieldproperties.

With more than 20 years of capital-raising and merger andacquisition advisory experience, Harasimowicz joins BrownfieldsCapital from Merrill Lynch where he served as co-head of theDepository Institutions Group. At Merrill Lynch, Salomon Brothersand Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc., Harasimowicz negotiatedseveral major bank mergers and acquisitions, structured andsyndicated highly leveraged acquisition financings, developedseveral capital instruments for financial institutions andsupported the creation of several start-up banking, specialtyfinance and real estate companies.
