The entire 900,000-sf Renaissance Square project will feature two 40-story towers that will rise from a 10-level hotel podium. Stories 11 through 40 of the Main Street Tower will contain the residences and hotel condos that are now being called "the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton, Westchester." The project will also feature a 10,000-sf spa and fitness center, two restaurants and 10,000 sf of meeting and special event space. One restaurant will be located at street level on Main Street, while the other will be on the roof of the tower building.
No details on the planned makeup of the second tower building on Hamilton Avenue were released. Cappelli at one time proposed strictly office space for the second tower, but later reduced the office component in favor of residential condominiums. "I believe Westchester is an important location to enhance our portfolio," states Simon F. Cooper, president and COO.
During the approval process for the project, Cappelli had stated his firm was in negotiations with White Plains hotelier Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide for the hotel component. Cappelli officials project the opening date of the first tower building will be in early 2008.
